14 Concertgoers Hospitalized at The Chainsmokers Event in San Jose
Fourteen individuals were hospitalized during a concert featuring the electronic duo The Chainsmokers at Discovery Meadow in San Jose, California, on Friday night. The San Jose Fire Department (SJFD) responded to multiple calls for medical attention around 8:23 p.m. Authorities reported that several patients were recovering from alcohol or drug-related issues. While paramedics treated some attendees at the park, at least 10 were initially transported to local hospitals, with the SJFD later confirming via a tweet on X that 14 people were taken to a local hospital. The concert, which began at 5 p.m., concluded by 10:34 p.m. The San Jose Police Department informed NBC Bay Area that the hospitalizations were due to various reasons, including suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related problems. Social media posts from attendees on platforms like Reddit indicated observations of many people being 'taken out early' or 'crashing out' during the event.
