Tilde Launches Competition to Enhance Deep Serial Computation in AI Models
Tilde has announced the launch of a competition called 'One Layer Deeper' aimed at advancing the capabilities of AI models in performing deep serial computations. The competition seeks to explore whether architectures, objectives, and optimizers can be co-designed to improve the learning of deeper serial computation. This initiative is driven by the observation that current AI models, particularly Transformers, often rely on generating more tokens to scale sequential computation, which can limit the efficiency of parallel processing. The competition encourages participants to develop models that can adaptively increase computational depth at test time, beyond what was encountered during training. The goal is to train models capable of performing complex serial tasks and utilizing more computational depth effectively.
