Taiwan Launches National Robotics Center with $629 Million Funding Initiative
Taiwan has inaugurated the National Center for AI Robotics (NCAIR) as part of a $629 million funding initiative aimed at boosting the domestic robotics industry. This move is part of Taiwan's 'Ten AI Initiatives Promotion Plan' to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities. The center will focus on developing, testing, and training robotics technologies and talent. The Taiwanese government plans to support the creation of at least three new robotics startups by 2029, with the funding directed towards building a robust domestic robotics ecosystem. This initiative is seen as a strategic response to demographic challenges, such as an aging population and declining workforce, by promoting automation in various sectors.
