Frost and freezing conditions return to Northeast, Midwest
A sharp cold snap is expected across the Upper Midwest and Northeast, with temperatures dropping from summerlike warmth to near freezing conditions by Monday, April 20, and Tuesday, April 21. Many areas will see frost and widespread freezes, especially inland regions of New York, New England, Pennsylvania and the Upper Midwest. While major cities may largely avoid hard freezes, rural and interior zones face risks to early-blooming plants and gardens due to clear skies and calm winds.
