On This Day (27th May 1985): Arthur Wright – Sunderland’s Forgotten Half-Back Hero
He was a real-life hero to all the kids in Castletown, one of their own. A sharp half-back with an attacking instinct, his ability to change the direction of attack was matched by his fierce shot, which many believed was the hardest in football.
