STEM NOLA and The HOPE Program Advance Youth Opportunities in STEM and Sustainability
STEM NOLA and The HOPE Program are leading initiatives to provide hands-on STEM education and sustainability training to youth. Founded by Dr. Calvin Mackie, STEM NOLA focuses on engaging students with interactive STEM activities, such as building race cars and exploring mechanical prototypes. The HOPE Program, led by Chief Development Officer Karen Edelman, emphasizes sustainability projects like installing reflective rooftop coatings and building rain gardens. Both organizations aim to empower young people from underinvested communities by offering educational and career opportunities.
