Daniel Edward Josephs, a respected figure in the supermarket industry, passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Josephs began his career at Jewel Food Stores, eventually rising to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Dominick's Finer Foods. His leadership transformed Dominick's from a family-run business into a major player in the Chicagoland market. Josephs was known for his keen business sense and mentorship, impacting many in the industry. He was also a dedicated family man, survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Josephs was a lifelong Cubs fan, celebrating their World Series win in 2016 with his family.
