Marathon County Seeks Public Input on Proposed Hub City Wind Farm Project
Marathon County is actively seeking public input on the proposed Hub City Wind Farm through a survey and a public forum. The Alternative Energy Project Local Impact Advisory Committee is gathering feedback to guide negotiations between the county and the project developer. The proposed wind farm, which may include 28 to 38 turbines, is planned for the towns of Day, McMillan, Eau Pleine, Cleveland, Green Valley, and Brighton. Residents can complete the survey on the Marathon County website until June 19, and a public forum is scheduled for June 17 at the Lake View Conference Center in Wausau. Alliant Energy is considering submitting a permit application to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission by late 2026, with potential construction starting in 2028 or 2029 if approved.
