Newport Beach Public Library Offers Free Rosetta Stone Access and Diverse Resources for Cardholders
The Newport Beach Public Library (NBPL) is celebrating the city's 120th anniversary by highlighting 120 activities and resources available to its cardholders. Among the notable offerings is free access to the language learning application Rosetta Stone. The library system, which includes the Newport Beach Central Public Library and branches in Crean Mariners, Corona del Mar, and Balboa, lent approximately 1.2 million items and recorded over 715,000 visits last year. Library Services Director Melissa Hartson emphasized that the library provides a wide array of services beyond traditional book lending, including equipment rentals like drum machines, GoPros, and Canon Rebel cameras, as well as access to a new Media Lab for podcast production and Adobe Elements. Additionally, the library offers telescopes for children to borrow and California State Library Parks Passes.
