Target's Good Gather Snack Brand Recalled Due to Salmonella Risk
Several varieties of snack mixes from Target's Good & Gather brand, along with other brands such as Fisher, Squirrel Brand, and Southern Style Nuts, have been voluntarily recalled due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recall was announced by John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. and published by the Food and Drug Administration. The contamination risk stems from a seasoning made by a third-party supplier containing dry milk powder that was previously recalled. Although the seasoning tested negative for Salmonella before use, the recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution. No illnesses have been reported in connection with these snack mixes, but consumers are advised to discard or return the products for a refund or replacement.
