Boney Island Halloween Attraction Ends Due to Permitting Challenges
Boney Island, a beloved Halloween attraction in Los Angeles, is coming to an end after more than 20 years. Created by Rick Polizzi, a former producer of 'The Simpsons', the attraction faced unforeseen permitting and production challenges during a planned move to Santa Clarita. The attraction, known for its skeleton-centric displays and family-friendly atmosphere, was initially set up in Polizzi's Sherman Oaks front yard. Over the years, it moved to various locations, including Griffith Park and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. However, logistical issues and a reduction in available soundstages at Santa Clarita Studios have led to the decision to close the attraction permanently. Polizzi announced the closure on social media, citing the challenges in finding a suitable location and the financial impracticality of continuing the project.
