Ave Maria School of Law Co-Organizes International Human Rights Conference in Mexico
Ave Maria School of Law, in collaboration with Universidad Panamericana and Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, co-organized the first International Congress on International Human Rights Protection Systems. The event took place on September 17-18 at Universidad Panamericana’s Guadalajara campus in Mexico. Professor of Law Ligia Castaldi represented Ave Maria Law at the conference, which gathered international court judges, commissioners, government officials, scholars, and other experts from various countries. The congress focused on examining the Inter-American Human Rights System and its legal and institutional challenges. Sessions included keynote addresses, academic presentations, and panel discussions conducted in both Spanish and English. A notable virtual panel, 'Proposals and Reforms for Strengthening the Inter-American Human Rights System,' featured Dr. Ignacio de Casas, an expert member of the United Nations Human Rights Council Advisory Committee, among other distinguished scholars.
