EU Introduces Icons for Labelling AI-Generated Content to Enhance Transparency
The European Union has developed a set of icons to label AI-generated content, aiming to enhance transparency and public trust. These icons are part of the EU's AI Act, which mandates the disclosure of AI-generated or manipulated content. The icons are designed to help individuals recognize content that has been artificially generated or manipulated, such as deepfakes or AI-generated text. The initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce misinformation and ensure informed consumption of content. The icons are available in various formats and are intended to be used by creators, publishers, and other deployers of generative AI systems. While the use of these icons is optional, compliance with the AI Act's disclosure requirements is mandatory.
