Scotland’s Finest Woods Seeks New Executive Director Amid Organizational Growth
Scotland’s Finest Woods is actively recruiting a new executive director and up to three trustees as part of its strategic growth plan. This recruitment follows the decision of the current executive director, Jean Nairn, to step down after four years of service. During her tenure, Nairn significantly raised the profile of the charity and its annual awards program, which celebrates excellence in woodland management across Scotland. The executive director role is a contract position requiring approximately 70 days of work per year, with a compensation range of £15,000 to £20,000. The position involves overseeing the Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards, which have been held at the Scottish Parliament and recognize a variety of projects, from community orchards to commercial forestry. The charity is also seeking trustees to support its governance and future development, with applications closing on May 15, 2026.
