Air Force Awards Boeing $75 Million Contract for Long-Range JDAMs
The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a $75 million contract to produce long-range Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs). This new variant, the GBU-75 JDAM-LR, features a stand-off range of over 300 nautical miles, significantly extending the reach of the Air Force's munitions. The JDAM-LR system, which completed its first test flights in April, is designed to provide a cost-effective solution for long-range precision strikes. The contract marks a major milestone in the JDAM LR program, aiming to enhance the Air Force's capabilities in contested environments.
