Three Tornadoes Confirmed in Central Wisconsin Following Severe Storms
On July 20, 2026, severe storms swept through central Wisconsin, resulting in three confirmed tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay (WSAW). The tornadoes included two EF-U classifications and one EF-0. An EF-U tornado near Stratford caused minor damage to farm equipment, a tent, and a garage door, traveling over 6 miles in 12 minutes. Another EF-U tornado northwest of Split Rock covered 8.7 miles in 14 minutes. The EF-0 tornado near Zoar had winds of 70 mph, traveled nearly 8 miles in 13 minutes, and caused tree damage along Highway 47. This marks the latest severe weather event in Wisconsin, which has already seen 42 tornadoes in 2026, nearly double the annual average of 23.
