New Mexico Department of Public Safety to Launch Enhanced IT Help Center
The New Mexico Department of Public Safety is set to launch a new IT Help Center designed to improve efficiency and customer service for its employees and partners. Announced on August 7, the initiative addresses challenges faced by the existing Help Desk, which supports approximately 1,300 employees, including 700 New Mexico State Police officers. The current system struggles with staffing shortages and outdated processes, leading to a backlog of unresolved tickets. The new IT Help Center will feature a portal for submitting requests through guided forms, automated approval workflows, and an AI-powered chatbot. These enhancements aim to streamline operations and reduce response times, with future plans for expansion into asset management and broader service management capabilities.
