Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and Wife Donate 440 Acres in Hawaii for Affordable Housing
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and his wife, Lynne Benioff, have donated 440 acres of land in Hawaii to the Hawaii Island Community Development Corp. for affordable housing initiatives. This donation is part of a larger acquisition of over 600 acres of land in Hawaii, primarily in and around Waimea on the Big Island, which the couple has purchased since 2000, totaling nearly $100 million. The Benioffs significantly increased their land purchases after 2020, acquiring residential, commercial, and agricultural properties through various anonymous LLCs and a nonprofit. The initial phase of the affordable housing project will include the construction of 43 homes, aiming to address the critical need for accessible housing on Hawaii Island.
