Israeli Startup Esh-Tech Develops Dronelight System for Rapid Drone Interception
Esh-Tech Systems, an Israeli startup, has developed Dronelight, a laser system designed to counter drone threats, particularly from Hezbollah. The system emits hundreds of tiny beams at a target, allowing for rapid interception within seconds. Unlike the Iron Beam system, Dronelight's lower output enables it to draw energy from various field systems, making it effective against swarm attacks. The system is undergoing trials in Israel and overseas, with orders from armored vehicle manufacturers and plans to mount it on lightweight platforms. Esh-Tech has received substantial grants from the Israel Innovation Authority and is recognized as a promising development by the Directorate of Defense, Research and Development.
