The Gospel Coalition Rejects AI in Writing, Emphasizes Human Creativity
The Gospel Coalition (TGC) has announced a firm stance against the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the writing process for its publications. TGC's editorial team has developed an 'AI Guidelines for TGC Submissions' document, emphasizing the importance of human creativity and the human element in writing. The guidelines prohibit the use of AI for ideating, researching beyond basic fact-checking, organizing, writing, or editing beyond basic spelling checks. TGC's decision is rooted in the belief that writing is a deeply human endeavor, characterized by inefficiency, passion, and personal struggle, which AI cannot replicate. The organization aims to maintain the integrity of its content and foster a community of human writers and readers.
