Delta Flight Diverted After Rapid 27,000-Foot Descent Due to Pressurization Issue
A Delta Air Lines flight, number 2311, en route from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, was diverted to Las Vegas after experiencing a rapid descent of 27,000 feet over approximately 10 minutes. The incident, which occurred on September 6, involved a pressurization issue on board the Boeing 737-900 aircraft. During the descent, oxygen masks were deployed for passengers and crew. A Delta spokesperson confirmed that the flight crew followed established training and procedures to safely bring the aircraft to an optimal altitude. After landing in Las Vegas, passengers were transferred to another plane, which subsequently departed for Salt Lake City about four hours later.
