Vermont Book Awards to Honor Local Authors and Literature in Montpelier
The 2025 Vermont Book Awards are set to celebrate the achievements of Vermont authors in a ceremony scheduled for May 2 at the Greenway Institute campus in Montpelier. The event, organized by Vermont Humanities, will recognize outstanding literature in four categories: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and children’s literature. Bianca Stone, Vermont’s poet laureate, will deliver the keynote speech. Stone is known for her poetry collections, including 'What is Otherwise Infinite,' which won the 2022 Vermont Book Award. The event will also feature a dessert reception and the announcement of the Vermont Reads pick. Finalists in various categories include Angelica Del Campo, Aaron Starmer, and Mima Tipper for children's literature, and Jamaica Kincaid, Helen Whybrow, and Tyler Alexander for creative nonfiction.
