Crystal Bridges Museum Expands with New Galleries and Community Spaces
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, is set to unveil a significant expansion on June 6-7, 2026. The expansion, designed by architect Moshe Safdie, adds 114,000 square feet to the museum, including two new gallery spaces and a Learning and Engagement Hub. The new galleries will house the museum's growing contemporary art collection and temporary exhibitions. The expansion also includes five acres of landscaped trails, gardens, and a pond, enhancing the museum's integration with its natural surroundings. Safdie's design emphasizes a seamless blend with the environment, featuring hidden practical details and bespoke skylights to achieve optimal lighting conditions.
