Taylor Farms' Iceberg Lettuce Linked to Cyclosporiasis Outbreak Across 15 States
The cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to Taylor Farms' shredded iceberg lettuce has expanded to 15 states, with 6,358 illnesses reported. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) initially identified Taylor Farms as the source but later clarified that the investigation continues to focus on their lettuce. Taylor Farms has issued a voluntary recall of all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico. The outbreak has led to two deaths in Michigan, both individuals with significant underlying health conditions. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is also investigating other outbreaks and illnesses of cyclosporiasis nationally that are unrelated to the 15-state outbreak. Taco Bell has stopped using lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico at its restaurants.
