Bret Harte Student Peyton Heermance Wins Prestigious FFA Award for Agricultural Placement
Peyton Heermance, a student from Bret Harte High School, has been awarded the Star in Agricultural Placement at the 98th Annual California FFA State Leadership Conference. This prestigious award is part of the State Star Awards, which recognize outstanding FFA members for their achievements in supervised agricultural experiences (SAE). The conference, held in Ontario, California, near Los Angeles, celebrated students from six regions who demonstrated exceptional management skills in various agricultural fields. Heermance's award highlights his work at Angel's Camp Veterinary Hospital, where he has been involved in numerous responsibilities such as rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting in surgeries, and conducting lab tests. His dedication to the field of veterinary science was previously recognized with the 2025 National FFA Proficiency title in veterinary science—entrepreneurship/placement.
