Stevie Nicks Donates $3 Million to USC Medical School to Honor Voice Doctor
Legendary singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks has donated $3 million to the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. This donation is intended to establish an endowed chair in otolaryngology in honor of Dr. Joseph Sugerman, a Beverly Hills-based ear, nose, and throat specialist who has been instrumental in maintaining Nicks' vocal health throughout her career. Dr. Sugerman, a USC alumnus and long-time faculty member, has treated numerous performers and patients over his nearly 50-year career. The endowed chair, named the Stevie Nicks and Joseph Sugerman, MD, Endowed Chair in Otolaryngology, will support advancements in vocal medicine. The first recipient of this chair will be Dr. Michael M. Johns, who leads the USC Voice Center.
