High Court Refers Barrister and Legal Consultant for Contempt Over Fabricated Documents
The High Court has referred a barrister and his chambers to the Bar Standards Board (BSB) due to their involvement in litigation managed by a legal consultant employed by the chambers. Mr. Justice Linden has also referred the consultant, Amar Lodhia, to the Attorney General for potential contempt of court proceedings. The court found that Lodhia fabricated or altered documents and submitted false witness statements. Lodhia, who works at JSC Chambers, is described as a supervised legal consultant with advocacy rights in various courts. The case involves a defamation and malicious falsehood claim related to Lodhia's activities in a residents' association in East London. The court has imposed a three-year general civil restraint order on Lodhia, citing multiple instances of false claims and fabricated evidence.
