Zoetis Develops Monoclonal Antibody Treatment for Canine Osteoarthritis
Zoetis has developed a monoclonal antibody treatment called Librela to manage osteoarthritis pain in dogs. Librela targets nerve growth factor, which communicates pain signals to the brain, providing relief for dogs suffering from this degenerative disease. The treatment has been approved in Europe since 2021 and in the United States since 2023. It offers a monthly injection that helps dogs regain mobility and improve their quality of life.
