Mazda and Hyundai Lead in Safest Cars for Teen Drivers
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and Consumer Reports have identified the safest new vehicles for teen drivers, with Mazda and Hyundai leading the list. The selection criteria focused on vehicles with lower horsepower relative to weight and high safety ratings. Models from Toyota, Ford, Honda, Kia, Nissan, Subaru, and Volkswagen also made the list. The recommended vehicles include the Mazda 3, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Camry, among others. The list aims to help parents choose safe vehicles for inexperienced drivers, emphasizing the importance of safety features over performance.
