Former CIA Official Charged with Embezzling Millions in Gold and Cash
A former senior CIA official has been arrested and charged with stealing over $40 million in gold bars and $2 million in cash from the U.S. government. The individual, who held a top secret-level clearance, allegedly embezzled these assets under the guise of work-related expenses between November 2025 and March 2026. The FBI's investigation revealed that the suspect had also falsified his military and educational background, claiming to be a Navy pilot and holding degrees from prestigious institutions, which were unsubstantiated. During a search of his home, authorities seized more than 300 gold bars, foreign currency, and 35 luxury watches, including Rolexes.
