Android's Upcoming 'Tap to Share' Feature Promises Seamless Data Transfer
Android is set to introduce a new feature called 'Tap to Share,' which will allow users to instantly transfer data such as photos, videos, and contact information by simply overlapping the tops of their phones. This feature, similar to Apple's AirDrop, requires both devices to be unlocked and in close proximity for the transfer to occur. The feature is currently in development and has been spotted in Google Play Services v26.15.31. It aims to simplify the sharing process by utilizing NFC technology, which varies in placement across different Android devices, necessitating the overlap method for effective communication.
