Seattle Pollen Count Highlights Spring Allergies
As spring arrives in Seattle, pollen levels are being closely monitored to assist residents with allergies. The Northwest Asthma & Allergy Center provides daily pollen counts for the Seattle area, certified by the National Allergy Bureau (NAB). Two machines, a Burkard and a Rotorod, are used to collect and report pollen data. The Burkard machine operates continuously and reports twice weekly, while the Rotorod runs for 25 minutes daily. These counts are shared with local media outlets, including King5, to help allergy sufferers anticipate and manage symptoms during high pollen periods.
