Oklahoma State University Launches Agronomy Discovery Center with State Funding
Oklahoma State University (OSU) is set to enhance its agricultural research capabilities with the establishment of the Agronomy Discovery Center at its Agronomy Research Station in Stillwater. This initiative is supported by $40 million in state funding approved by the Oklahoma Legislature, supplemented by private contributions. The new center will replace outdated facilities with modern greenhouses, laboratories, and research spaces, focusing on crop and soil research, wheat breeding, turfgrass science, weed control, soil fertility, and forage studies. OSU President Jim Hess emphasized the importance of this investment for the university and the agricultural community, highlighting the center's role in maintaining Oklahoma's leadership in agricultural innovation.
