Denmark Warns of Russian Sabotage Against Defense Companies Supporting Ukraine
The Danish counter-intelligence agency (PET) has issued a warning that Russia is actively preparing and carrying out sabotage operations targeting Danish defense companies, particularly those involved in supporting Ukraine. According to PET chief Emil Gresholm, Moscow is attempting to recruit Danish citizens to aid these operations. The agency has briefed affected companies and urged them to take precautions. This warning comes amidst increasing concerns among Western officials regarding suspected sabotage, arson, and cyberattacks, many of which are linked to Russian intelligence. Denmark, a NATO and EU member, is a significant donor of military aid to Ukraine and has pioneered defense-industrial cooperation with Kyiv, including allowing Ukrainian firms to establish production facilities on Danish territory. Copenhagen and Kyiv are also discussing a potential drone deal, and Denmark is a member of the Ukraine-led Freya anti-ballistic missile project.
