Generations Celebrate at Bronzeville's 97th Bud Billiken Parade
The 97th annual Bud Billiken Parade took place in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood, drawing thousands of spectators to celebrate Black culture and community. Known as the largest Black parade in the country, the event featured bands, dance, and drill teams marching towards Washington Park. This year's grand marshal was actress LisaRaye McCoy. The parade, a longstanding tradition since 1929, coincides with Illinois' temporary sales tax reduction on school supplies, providing additional support for families preparing for the new school year.
