Fairfield County Expands Workforce Center to Boost Career Readiness
Fairfield County has celebrated the expansion of its Workforce Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Coonpath Road facility. The newly renovated center now includes a healthcare training area, modern construction labs, and expanded public meeting spaces. The event was attended by students, educators, business leaders, and elected officials, including Sen. Tim Schaffer and Reps. Jeff LaRe and Kevin Miller. The center aims to enhance workforce development and career readiness, providing training for in-demand careers. Jason Thompson, a graduate of the center, shared his success story, highlighting the center's role in his career in construction. The center operates in partnership with Ohio University and Hocking College, serving as a hub for career training and community engagement.
