Social Media Influencer's Video Sparks Debate Over Political Messaging
A video by social media influencer Key Henson, initially appearing as a restaurant review, unexpectedly included a message supporting U.S. Representative Chris Pappas for his efforts to keep costs low for New Hampshire residents. Pappas, who is running for the U.S. Senate, stated that his campaign was not involved in the video's creation. The video has sparked discussions about the role of influencers in political messaging, especially when there is no clear disclosure of campaign involvement. University of New Hampshire law professor Daniel Pi noted that without campaign involvement, there is no legal violation, highlighting the importance of free speech in democracy.
