G7 Nations Project $8 Trillion Increase in Defense Spending Over Next Decade, Fueling AI and Tech Investment
Group of Seven (G7) nations are projected to increase defense spending by an additional $8 trillion over the next decade, according to estimates by former US Navy Admiral James Stavridis. This significant surge in re-armament spending is expected to parallel investments in technology and artificial intelligence (AI). The collective annual gross domestic product (GDP) of G7 countries is currently over $55 trillion, making this $8 trillion increase equivalent to nearly 15% of 2026 GDP.
