Brazil Sues Discord for $97 Million Over Alleged Child Protection Failures
The Brazilian government has filed a lawsuit against Discord, the popular online communication platform, seeking 500 million reais (approximately $97 million) in damages. The lawsuit, filed in a federal court, alleges that Discord has failed to adequately protect children online, citing severe gaps in its age-verification systems and user safety protections.
