Exhibition Highlights Indigenous Astronomical Knowledge Across Continents
A new exhibition titled 'Cosmic Echoes: A Shared Sky' is showcasing Indigenous astronomical knowledge from Australia and South Africa. The exhibition features artworks by Indigenous artists, including Carlleen Dingo from Australia, and explores how these communities interpret the night sky. The exhibition has toured Africa and Europe and highlights the cultural significance of astronomy in Indigenous communities. It also coincides with the presence of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) observatory in Australia, which is a major scientific project involving radio telescopes.
