Clipper Races East With Heavy Snow and 50 MPH Wind Gusts
A fast-moving clipper slides from southwestern Canada into the Northern Plains and Great Lakes Tuesday, bringing snow north of its track and a wintry mix to areas south. By Wednesday, it races into the Northeast, spreading rain and snow, with 3–6 inches common from North Dakota to northern New York and Vermont. Heavier 6–12 inch pockets may hit Wisconsin, Michigan, and southern Ontario. Strong winds could top 50 mph, causing blowing snow and outages, with more clippers and reinforcing Arctic air late week.
