Saudia Expands Fleet with 12 New Aircraft to Boost Capacity
Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has announced plans to expand its fleet by acquiring 12 new aircraft by the end of 2026. This expansion will increase the airline's total fleet to 161 aircraft. The new additions include Airbus A321neos, following Saudia's recent milestone as the first airline in the Middle East and Africa to operate the A321XLR, Airbus's newest extra-long-range, single-aisle aircraft. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Saudia Group Director General, emphasized that this expansion is part of a disciplined approach to enhance operational readiness and align with Saudi Vision 2030. The airline is also investing in workforce development, training new pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance specialists to support the fleet expansion.
