Russia's Black Sea Oil Port Shuts Down Amid Drone Threats
Russia's largest Black Sea oil export terminal, Sheskharis, has ceased operations following drone attacks that also affected the nearby Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal. This disruption has halted the loading of crude tankers since July 21, impacting the export of approximately 650,000 barrels per day. The shutdown adds to the existing strain on global oil supply, as Kazakhstan has reduced oil production due to storage limitations. The situation is exacerbated by Ukraine's expanded drone attacks on commercial shipping and export infrastructure in the Black Sea, prompting Russia to warn vessels of the increased threat from air and sea drones.
