Representative Kiley Attends Ribbon-Cutting for New Sacramento Light Rail Station
U.S. Representative Kevin Kiley (I-Rocklin) was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Dos Rios light rail station in Sacramento. The station, located on North 12th Street between Richards Boulevard and Sunbeam Avenue in the city's River District, marks the completion of a project that has been over 20 years in the making. Sacramento Regional Transit (RT), along with local, state, and federal partners, celebrated the new Blue Line station, which is situated near Marisol Village, a mixed-income rental community. The $42.8 million project was funded through a combination of state and federal funds. While construction is complete, the station will not open to the public for several weeks as it awaits approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). RT anticipates receiving consent within two weeks, after which an opening date will be confirmed.
