Telangana Launches Self-Enumeration for Census 2027, Emphasizing Digital Participation
The self-enumeration phase of Census 2027 has begun in Telangana, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla leading the initiative by registering their details online. This phase, which runs from April 26 to May 10, allows citizens to submit their information through an official portal, marking a significant shift towards digital data collection. The initiative aims to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in gathering demographic data. The Census is described as a crucial national exercise that provides a comprehensive snapshot of the population and its socioeconomic profile, forming the backbone of policy formulation and resource distribution. Union Coal & Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy also participated, highlighting the Census as a foundational pillar for India's development and a key tool for planning and inclusive growth.
