UNESCO Recognizes Italian Theaters and Mount Olympus as World Heritage Sites
UNESCO's World Heritage Committee has added 25 new sites to its list, including a group of 10 theaters in central Italy and Mount Olympus in Greece. The Italian theaters, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, are noted for their Neoclassical and late Baroque styles and operated under a unique collective ownership model. This recognition highlights the cultural significance of these theaters and strengthens the Marche region's identity as a theater hub. Mount Olympus, known as the mythical home of the Greek gods, also received the designation, emphasizing its cultural and historical importance.
