Day Laborers Convene to Address Impact of ICE Raids in Los Angeles
Day laborers in Los Angeles gathered for a convention organized by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) to discuss the effects of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids that have targeted their community over the past year and a half. The event, held in Pasadena, marked the first in-person meeting since the raids began. Attendees, including day laborers and activists from Southern California, shared their experiences and discussed strategies to protect themselves from future raids. The convention also featured legal consultations and discussions on potential actions, such as a boycott of Home Depot, where many day laborers seek work and have been targeted by ICE.
