Extreme Heat Warning in Los Angeles: Cooling Centers Open

City officials have announced measures to help residents cope with the heat, including the operation of nine dedicated cooling centers with extended hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. These centers, which will also accept pets, are located across the San Fernando Valley, downtown Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, the Westside, and the Harbor area.
