Waco Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon After Attacking Neighbor
Pedro Zabala, 46, of Waco, Texas, has been arrested and charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury. Police allege that Zabala attacked his 28-year-old neighbor with a metal jack handle and kicked him in the face during an altercation early Sunday morning. Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Fort Avenue, where they found the victim bleeding from his head, with a circular forehead wound and a suspected broken nose. Two female witnesses identified Zabala as the aggressor. Zabala claimed self-defense, stating the victim had previously jumped him and initiated the confrontation. However, police found no visible marks on Zabala to support his claim, and mobile phone video recorded by the victim's sibling allegedly showed Zabala as the clear aggressor, kicking the already injured victim.
