Basic-Fit Data Breach Affects 1 Million Members Across Europe
Basic-Fit, Europe's largest gym chain, has reported a data breach impacting the personal information of approximately 1 million members. The Netherlands-based company detected unauthorized access to its systems, which was blocked within minutes. However, an investigation revealed that data, including names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and bank account details, had been downloaded by the hacker. Basic-Fit clarified that no identification documents or passwords were accessed. The breach affects members in several countries, including the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company has not identified the perpetrator, and no known ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
